DESCRIPTION:2025 Read-a-Thon Events\nFebruary is Read-a-Thon month! We celebrate literacy at Mary Hogan Elementary School with a month full of tracking students’ reading minutes\, special guest speakers\, fundraising\, and special rewards for minutes read. Consider donating directly through our website to support the students on their reading adventure! \nHere is our comprehensive guide to events: \n\nJanuary 30th at 9:00- Bookmark contest! Kickoff in the gym! Wear your Hawk Gear!\nFeb. 3- After School “Book and Craft” with Liz and Ms. Palmer (grades K-2). Sign-ups required.\nFeb. 4th \n\nAuthor visit with Dan Abdo\nReading Buddies Grades 1 & 4\, 3-4pm.  Come read with a student from another grade. (20 kids). Sign-ups required.\n\n\nFeb. 5th- Reading Buddies Grades 2 & 5\, 3-4pm. Come read with a student from another grade. (20 kids). Sign-ups required.\nFeb. 6th – Character Dress-up Day! \nFeb. 6\, 13\, 20 – 5th grade library club with Tricia. 3:00-4:15. Sign ups required. Storytelling\nFeb. 7th\n\nReading Logs turned in!\nAfter School Poetry Writing Workshop with Ted Scheu (grades 3-5). Sign-ups required.\n\n\nFeb. 10th- After School “Book and Craft” with Liz and Ms. Palmer  (grades K-2). Sign-ups required.\nFeb. 11th -After School Reading Buddies with MUHS students!\nFeb. 12th- 10:30-10:45 Stop\, Drop\, and Read\nFeb. 13th- Literacy Night  5:45-7:15. Come have dinner\, meet other families\, and attend literacy workshops.\nFeb. 14th\n\nReading Logs turned in!\nAfter School Poetry Writing Workshop with Ted Scheu (grades 3-5). Sign-ups required. 3:00-4:15\n\n\nFeb. 17th – After School “Book and Craft” with Liz and Ms. Palmer (grades K-2). Sign-ups required.3:00-4:15\nFebruary 18th\n\nAuthor Ted Scheu will visit the Preschool students.  9:30-10:30am\nReading Buddies Grades K & 3\, 3-4pm. Come read with a student from another grade.(20 kids) Sign-ups required.\n\n\nFebruary 19th- Free Book Giveaway!\n\n1st and 2nd grade in the hallway 8:15-10:00.\n4th and 5th grade in the library 8:30-10:30.\n3rd grade in the library 10:45-11:45.\nKindergarten and preschool will have boxes to unwrap in their rooms!\n\n\nFebruary 19th- After School Illustrating Workshop with Ashley Wolff (grades 3-5). Sign-ups required. 3:00-4:15.\nFeb. 19th-22nd – Mary Hogan Benefit Sale at The Vermont Book Shop. Mention the word “Hawks” and 20% of the proceeds from your purchase will be donated to the Read-A-Thon. You can also shop online and mention the word “Hawks” at checkout with your order!\nFebruary 20th – Author visit with Ashley Wolff – Kindergarten classes. 8:45-9:30 and 10:00-10:45\nFeb. 21st – Reading Logs turned in!\nFeb. 21st at 2:00 – Closing Ceremony
